![]() Mine does 38 watts PEP and normally run the mic gain at 1 o clock with an Astatic 636. One radio I will never part with and most likely use in the mobile until I wear it out. Just that little tiny bit of transmitted frequency shift was detected and the operator was amazed that I was mobile! Many times I have heard an operator many miles away in ssb mode key the mic and tune to get on freq without talking. ![]() The SSB filtering is tops! A dead silent SSB reciever. One way I found out. The reciever is so sensitive with very little white noise. Great looks and just basic simple to use with good power and modulation. I for one really love the radio and stand by its performance. I guess that Ranger is replacing it with the new Superstar. A couple years ago I found one brand new at a local cb shop for 500 dollars! ![]() Can probably still find them in the shops and online but I bet the price will be higher. Not sure but I doubt Copper has any stashed away. If you look up the Connex 4800 dxl/e in the online Copper catalog it says "no longer availiable" I first heard it from a respectful Copper member. If not I will have to find it on the internet somewhere.Äoughboyx, I hate to say it and I did'nt believe it at first. I had planned on doing the tweak and tuning myself. ![]() The NEW Radio I can not find how to Tweak and Tuned or mod. Just curious had planned on purchasing this radio for myself for a christmas present. Is this radio discontinued? Will Copper be carrying this radio in the future.
